The Last Day is a great read. The story is well written and the concept is very original. It was great to read a science fiction apocalyptic story that had a decent foundation. I loved the mystery of the book and time after time I was persuaded to read just one more chapter. I must say that I was a little disappointed with the ending of the book. Although it fit the story well, I experienced it as a bit of an anticlimax and found that the characters had little to do with the outcome of the story.
