Darius Kellner is having a bit of a year. Since his trip to Iran, a lot has changed. He's getting along with his dad, and his best friend Sohrab is only a Skype call away. Between his first boyfriend, Landon, varsity soccer practices, and an internship at his favorite tea shop, things are falling into place.

Review of 'Darius the Great Deserves Better' on 'Storygraph'

I love Darius and his family and Adib Khorram SO MUCH! This book and the first one do such good jobs of representing depression and Darius is a completely 3 dimensional character who I’m really glad is being read by lots of people. Also, I’m sure other queer authors are doing this, but I really appreciated that the narrator/Darius didn’t assume the gender of strangers that he sees and meets. He uses they/them for every person he sees and doesn’t know. In the tea shop, in the library, everywhere. It shouldn’t be that exciting or novel, but it feels incredible. I really hope there are plans for another one eventually because I don’t yet want to say goodbye to Darius, Sohrab, Laleh, Mamou, and Chip.
