I really really loved this book. Sometimes I get frustrated when stories about trans kids rely heavily on traditional gender stereotypes to explain how a kid knew they were trans which isn’t fair or accurate. This book did not do that.

I didn’t really know what I was getting into when I read this, but in the end, I loved it. It is Lovecraftian so there are parts that are pretty gory and terrifying, but the fantasy is super rich and the whole story arch felt quite perfect. I’m going to be recommending this to many people.

I lost count of how many times I thought “I’m so glad that Gabby wrote this book!”
Every Queer, Round, Brown Girl should love themselves and this book is like a handbook on how to do so. I love it. And I love Gabby & Juliet’s nerdy, squishy, sensitive, brave soul(s). Also...library romance and some extremely accurate representations of Portland hippies. Inhala, exhala.
