As great as part one. I pity Anne Boleyn and all the other women who are not more than mere possessions of their men. I wonder how we missed detecting all that misogony in our history.

As for Cromwell, he plans his revenges and gets them all, yet he never understands that the reason for all that revenge is the king, not the persons carrying out the kings wishes.

And so Cromwell is also carrying out whatever the king wishes, not ever thinking for a second whether morals, law, ethics are damaged when he does what he dors for the king. And one day, Cromwell will be sorted out and executed like all his victims. The only one never blamed is Henry VIII, yet every deed originates with him. And he will not be executed.

Suspenseful story, very good to read. Interesting protagonist on the edge of human/machine, and the plot gets twisty. I liked it alot.

Der erste Teil liest sich spitze. Cromwell war viel beansprucht und so springen die Gedanken auch ständig von hier nach da, aber alles ist interessant.

Ich frage mich echt, wie wir alle jemals historische Romane lesen konnten, ohne uns über die untergeordneten, teilweise vergegenständlichten Rollen von Frauen zu wundern? Und vor allem: wir sehen Geschichte immer noch als eine Geschichte der Taten großer Männer, wo doch zumindest ich selber weiß, daß ich die meiste Zeit meines Lebens das mache, was meine Frau mir sagt.

Unsere Geschichte wird als Geschichte von Männern erzählt, wo doch die Frauen neben den Männern die Politik, Kultur, Tratsch, Diplomatie usw. genauso beeinflusst haben. Und so sollten wir unsere Geschichte auch erzählen.

Das mir das klar wurde, ist ein Verdienst von Hilary Mantels Buch.

Great book #3 of the typical fantastic Tad Williams trilogy, which always needs 4 books to finish so another book will be coming.

Tad Williams at his usual best: fantastic beasts, great plot with truely dark anti-protagonists, the screw of the plot is tightened till it screeches, the pace of action is good.

And there aren't that many authors around who keep such a small city of protagonists alive. I only remember George RR Martin and Stephen King who do similarly great in this respect.

A very important book, for it tries to bring together indigenous and scientific knowledge. Indigenous knowledge, rituals and observations lead to sustainable life within nature. Very important is to be gratious for presents, given by nature and other humans, instead of buying and selling and seeing everything as commodities.

Kimmerer has opened my eyes to many differences and problems in our (scientific, non-indigenous) way of living.
