I enjoy science fiction works, and some detective stories. Mostly short stories, and mostly works that have entered into the public domain. Don't have a lot of time to read which I'm hoping will change in this new year.

Beyond The Door: Short Story (2014, HarperPerennial Classics) 4 stars

Another quick read from a master craftsman.....

4 stars

while I don't think I've heard (or seen) this story before, there is something familiar about it. Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits have both had episodes with similar themes - perhaps that is why it seems familiar.

This is a good very quick read, very easy to follow. Although somewhat predictable. It does hold up to other stories from Philip K. Dick in the fact that it's fun, quick, and has themes that inspire other stories to be told.

Beyond Lies The Wub......

I'm not sure I've heard or seen this story anywhere else - thou it does have some similar themes that I have seen in shows like the Twilight Zone, and Outer Limits - It did leave me a bit confused - maybe because it's so short. I'm putting this on my list of books that I need to read again.

I give it 4 stars - because it is quick, it is easy to read - if not a bit hard to follow, but mostly because it is written by a master, one that I'm quickly finding to be very very enjoyable to read.

Definitely a re-read.

The Answer (EBook, 2008, Wildside Press) 4 stars

Interesting....

There were times that I felt the story was a little slow and a little hard to follow - but for a short story it was good - and I didn't expect what the final "Answer" was. This still reads like a modern story that could easily be made to fit into modern times. The story was written in 1959.
